All Ausrowtec boats are the subject of extensive and ongoing research and development.

We are committed to presenting our customers with the best possible construction and componentry. Our standards are applied to all boats of our manufacture.

We are pleased to provide you with our standard specifications as applied to all Ausrowtec boats.

Shoulders

In our boats constructed with shoulders, Carbon fiber shoulders replace wood, increasing stiffness thereby eliminating the gradual “working” characteristic of timber shoulders. This not only increases the inherent strength of the hull but also dramatically reduces weight while significantly increasing the durability of the boat.

Bolt holes are fitted at all shoulders allowing for the possibility of all rigging configurations (including tandem rigging). Hardened bushes are inserted in to all bolt holes to eliminate “pull through” on shoulders or core crushing.

Shoulder Free Boats

Ausrowtec has a complete range of hulls that can be constructed without the need for shoulders. This is done by the ability to construct all classes of boats with ‘Wing Riggers’ eliminating the requirement for shoulders. This creates more width throughout the entire structure, providing athletes with more room between themselves and the hull of the boat. Both alloy and Carbon Wing riggers can be fitted to wing rigger boats.

Riggers

Ausrowtec provides a comprehensive range of riggers to suit individual and programs needs. At ausrowtec we offer conventional standard riggers, SMART riggers as well as a range of Alloy Wing riggers.

At Ausrowtec we have revolutionised the wing rigger by having it produced out of carbon-fibre and designed to be symmetrical, allowing the rigger to be rigged either on bow or stroke side.

All Alloy Wing riggers are crafted from Aircraft Grade aluminum using an elliptical section. This shape gives the rigger incrediable stiffness allowing the forces to be transferred between the rower and the water. Quick release is an optional extra with all Alloy Wing Riggers.

Ausrowtec riggers can be purchased polished, anodized or powder coated.

All Ausrowtec Boats can be supplied with the latest in riggers incorporating either the “C” or “Smart” design riggers or the new quick release “Wing” riggers.

Seats

Seats can either be lightweight carbon fitted to single-action carriages with sealed nylon/stainless ball-bearing wheels or timber fitted to double action carriages. To allow flexibility for seat height, Ausrowtec offers various height seat carriages to achieve the required seat height for specific rig requirements.

Slides

Slides are hard-coated, anodised marine grade aluminum, fitted with nylon end stops. Slides come in either 76cm or 81cm length and are adjustable, forward and rear. Slides sit on top of high density foam beds.

Footplate

The footplate consists of a high-density foam core incased by high tensile Carbon fiber. The new footplate is significantly lighter and stiffer than outdated timber and alloy footplates. The Carbon footplates not only add greater durability to this fitting, but also increase overall strength and therefore force production by the athlete.

Shoes

Sport specific Ausrowtec rowing shoes are the result of years of research and design. Our rowing shoes feature quick release Velcro straps and heal ties to insure they meet FISA safety regulations. Our shoes are the most durable and comfortable rowing specific shoes on the market.

Guiding Pins

These have been placed in the section of the eight. These pin as stated act as a guide for when the section is put together. The pins ensure that not one side can be tightened up any more than the other can. This ensures a flush section and importantly prevents any crushing of the section. A great innovation from Ausrowtec.

Our eights have been the leading edge of rowing technology since our doors first opened. Our Australian made eights have won many elite events, from World Championships, National Championships, Kings Cups and Head of the Rivers. With an eight that is second to none, we began to look at areas of development that would make the use of our world class eights even easier. The male/female stainless steel (316 marine grade) guiding pins were designed and developed specifically for use in our D8+.

Strategically placed at critical points on the boat join of the eight, these guiding pins allow for easy and accurate assembly of the bow and stern sections of an eight every time. The male section is guided by the unique design into the female socket. Screws are then placed through the entire guiding pin unit. This results in the eight being perfectly aligned and the smoothest possible edge on the hull every time the eight is joined. The unit also prevents any crushing occurring from over tightening.

Cutting down on rigging time and any human error, these guiding pins were a logical progression in the development of one of the worlds finest racing hulls.

Angle Brackets

Anodised adjustable angle bracket - Standard on CH 2000 Series, can be purchased seperatly.

Painting

Hull, stern and bow canvases are all painted gloss white with tough, long-lasting coatings specially blended from polymers and pigments formulated to produce lasting colour and light stability. Decks and hull interiors are painted with a special light grey pigment to diffuse glare and minimise heat absorption.

Stainless Steel

All internal components of Ausrowtec boats are fitted out with Marine Grade 316 stainless steel nuts, bolts and washers to ensure quality in the finish product and longevity of equipment in even the harshest of enviroments.

Warranty

Ausrowtec shells are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of Two years (twenty four months) from date of delivery. A one-year (12 months) warranty is offered on all internal components. Related transport costs are the responsibility of the owner.
